Photo: Visions of Victoria. We taste a rose, pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon and shiraz before heading to the small counters scattered about covered with odds and ends for sale. There’s goats milk soap, leather door stoppers, cards and preserves. It’s a mad mix but it all seems to work well and there’s plenty here to keep everyone happy. We only visit two wineries in the region but there are so many more on offer. It’s worth turning off the flat highway that goes through the Golden Planes between Geelong and Ballarat and getting down into the valley. INFO Eagles Rise is at 310 Russells Bridge Rd, Russells Bridge. Phone 5281 2040 or go to wildwine.com.au Clyde Park Winery and Bistro is at 2490 Midland Highway, Bannockburn.
